The VasoMedical BIOX 1303/1306 Holter recorder provides continuous ECG monitoring over 24 hours and longer.
Holter studies detect disturbances invisible in a ten-second resting recording: paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, conduction blocks, nocturnal pauses and activity-related ischaemic episodes. These are the events that most often change management.
Recording quality during patient movement is the primary criterion for judging a recorder — motion artefacts can make a recording uninterpretable and force a repeat study. The recorder includes circuitry limiting muscular and contact interference.
The analysis software performs pre-classification of beats, 24-hour summaries and heart rate variability plots. This cuts reporting from hours to minutes — for a lab running studies in series this is the main throughput factor, more important than the number of recorders.
