Water quality translates directly into instrument condition and sterilizer service life. Tap water leaves scale on the steam generator and stains on instruments, and flexible endoscope reprocessing adds a microbiological requirement — below 10 CFU per 100 ml. We size reverse-osmosis stations to local water hardness: single-stage osmosis is sufficient for soft water, while hard water calls for a two-stage system.
