The SQ-CH series uses the strong oxidising action of peracetic acid, which breaks the permeability barrier of the spore coat and dissolves its core, destroying DNA, RNA, proteins and dipicolinic acid. Spores — the most resistant microbial form — are killed at a process temperature held below 60°C.
The method suits immersible instruments and heat-sensitive devices for which a steam cycle is excluded and ethylene oxide aeration time would be unacceptable. Peracetic acid decomposes into acetic acid, water and oxygen, leaving no toxic residue requiring aeration.
The unit runs an automatic cycle with parameter logging and printed report, documenting every load for infection-control records.
